How to Use the Salary / Tax Calculator
A salary number on a job offer is never the number that lands in your bank account โ tax takes its cut first. This calculator gives you a quick, honest estimate of your take-home pay in five countries: the USA, UK, Pakistan, India and Qatar.
Select your country, enter your gross annual salary and press Calculate Take-Home Pay. You'll see the estimated tax, your take-home annual pay and the monthly figure most people actually budget with.
How it works: each country uses a single flat effective rate chosen to be representative for typical salaried earnings (USA ~22%, UK ~25%, Pakistan ~12%, India ~20%, Qatar 0% โ Qatar has no personal income tax). Real tax systems are progressive โ meaning the rate rises with income โ and include deductions, allowances and social-security charges that a simple calculator can't fully model.
So treat the result as a planning estimate, not a payslip: good for comparing job offers across countries or sanity-checking a budget, but always confirm with an official tax calculator or an accountant before making big decisions.
