How to Use the SIP Calculator
A SIP works on two simple ideas: invest every month without fail, and let compounding do the heavy lifting. Enter your monthly investment amount, the annual return you expect, and how many years you plan to stay invested โ then press Calculate SIP Growth. You will see the projected value, your total contributions, the estimated gains, and a year-by-year table.
The step-up option is where this calculator earns its keep: if your salary grows about 10% a year, raising your SIP by 10% yearly keeps investing painless while adding a surprising amount to the final figure. Compare the totals with and without the step-up โ over 15โ20 years the difference is often larger than people expect.
Be honest with the return rate. Equity markets do not deliver a smooth 12% every year โ some years are flat or negative, others are spectacular. Run three scenarios (say 8%, 10% and 12%) and plan around the middle one. And remember the golden SIP rule: the return matters less than the discipline. Investors who kept their SIPs running through market crashes historically did far better than those who stopped and restarted.
This is a projection, not financial advice โ mutual fund returns are market-linked and never guaranteed. For a guaranteed government-backed option, compare with our PPF Calculator, and to understand the pure math behind the growth, see the Compound Interest Calculator.
