GPA (Grade Point Average) boils a whole semester down to one number on a 4.0 scale โ and that number decides scholarships, honor rolls, internships and grad school chances. It's a credit-weighted average: a 4-credit course moves your GPA twice as much as a 2-credit one.
Add a row per course (the ๏ผ Add course button gives you more, โ removes one), enter credit hours and your letter grade, then press Calculate GPA. The calculator converts each grade to points (A = 4.0, B = 3.0, C = 2.0, D = 1.0, F = 0, with +/โ steps in between), multiplies by credits, and divides by total credits.
Quick strategy notes: because weighting follows credits, protecting your grade in heavy courses matters most. And if you're projecting: plug in expected grades for current courses to see what you need โ e.g. what final-exam grade turns that B+ into an Aโ.
Note this uses the standard unweighted 4.0 scale; some schools weight AP/honors courses differently or use other scales, so treat it as an excellent estimate and confirm with your registrar for official purposes.
